We are huge fans of the Schroon Lake Library: from their dedicated librarians, kids activities, free movies, computer support and training, e-books and their fund raising group, The Friends of Schroon Lake Library. (FOSLL)

And a lot of their budget comes from the fundraising efforts of FOSLL and their summer time book sales, in the basement of the Hudson Headwaters Health Care Building. And like a lot of Schroon Lake, they will be kicking off their season early, with Schroon’s Opening Weekend, over Memorial Day, with a huge book sale.

Missing a rowboat? Larry Boland may have found it:

"An aluminum rowboat (13 ft) has washed up on my beach. It has no registration number. It appears to have some damage , probably from banging around. There are no oars in the boat. Feel free to come and rescue"

Back in the day, along Wonder View Road in North Hudson, the sounds of revving engines and the smell of burning rubber were a Saturday night staple, as tricked out cars raced down the North Hudson Drag Strip.

And while the drag way has long been shuttered, locals have fond memories and stories of those days, many which will be remembered and shared today at the 6^th Annual Classic Car Cruise In And Dragway Reunion.

Sponsored by the North Hudson Volunteer Women’s Auxiliary, the now annual event originally grew out of a drag strip reunion organized by the Schroon North Hudson Historical Society six years ago.
