Surf's Up At Schroon

It's not often you see waves on Schroon Lake. Then again, it's not often you see the lake flooding and three feet of water in the Boat House. This picture  was taken last Friday, before the water reached its high level over the weekend. By today access to the eastern side of the Lake was possible via Alder Meadow which was under water for most of the weekend. Nesa Road was also re-opened. Did you get flood damage?

Will Twitter Tweak Tourism?

        

Could social media be a boon for the summer tourism season in the Adirondacks?

The Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism President James McKenna is banking on it, and promoting Schroon Lake is one of their priorities,  according to the Press Republican

"We've launched new sites. Schroon Lake has one up and running. A new Lake Champlain site is in the process. That will be running before the summer starts. Lake Placid and Wilmington (websites) are being updated."
