When A Community Comes Together Great Things Can Happen

On Wednesday night around 150 folks gathered to break the bread and help raise money for a family who lost live stock and a barn in atragic fire.
The potluck event for John and Jen Otruba of Sugarbush Farms, raised $1,354. The money will go to purchasing livestock the family depends upon to survive, said one of the organizers, Shelby Davis.
"This meant the difference between the family having a business this year, or not," Shelby told Schroon Laker.
Among the dishes the diners feasted on at the Mountainside Gym were Anna Bently Hay's Chili Cheese and Rice Bake, Donna Mellan's vegetarian Mediterranean Gypsy Soup, Mr P's Meaty Beans and an upside down pineapple cake. "That cake was so delicious, everyone wants the recipe, but whoever baked it has not come forward".
