Meet Your Chili Cooks and Their Creations

There are four categories in today's Schroon Lake Chili Cook Off: Best Meaty Chili, Best Veggie Chili, Best Chili by a Fire, Ambulance or Rescue Squad and the The People's Choice Award

All winners will be presented with a trophy after the judges have completed their scoring.

SATURDAY FEBRUARY 23: SCHROON'S BIG DAY OUT!

While it might be a little grey and dreary outside, there's is a lot happening in town today that is guaranteed to lift your spirits. Right now the 2nd Annual Schroon Lake Chili Cook Off is getting underway at the Fish and Game Club.

A record 15 chilis will be featured, from home cooks, area restaurants and four local Fire rescue and EMT Squads. The event runs from 11:30am until 2 pm. There's an open bar, 50-50 raffle as well as chair massages from Bella Donna from Schroon Lake's Massage and Wellness Center, in exchange for a donation to the Schroon Lake EMS squad.

More Snow For The Poker Run = More Fun!

Tuesday night’s snow was surely welcomed by the riders participating in this weekend’s Schroon-North  Hudson Snowmobile Club’s Annual Poker Run.

In previous years Mother Nature has not been kind to the event -- with riders confronted by large sections of exposed rocks -- but organizer Dwayne Anderson hopes this year’s Run will be different.

“The more snow we get the better,” Dwayne told Schroon Laker.

Dwayne said this year’s run goes as far north as Dave Whitty’s business on Route 74 to Pottersville to the south.

Live From Schroon Lake: Saturday, February 16, 2013

We got a lot of clicks today on our first ever Dropcam live video feed from Schroon Lake. From our view we saw snow mobile riders, dogs, walkers and more snow mobile riders. As of this writing, at 8:30 pm Saturday, it's dark and cold outside. But to check out the view earlier today, click here.
