Schroon's Thursday Night Music Fest

If you are vacationing here in Schroon and nearby hamlets for the first time -- and you haven't heard where the hot spot is to be every Thursday night -- we are here to let you in on a little secret.

Open Mic night at Witherbee's Carriage House is the place to be. And it appears it's growing in popularity -- with both the number of musicians playing, and the crowd that comes to hear them perform -- increasing each week. Sign ip for the open mic kicks off at 6.30 pm in the upstairs loft with local legend Mark Piper. Musicians come from near and far for this event. Just how far? Well, we have it on good authority that there will be a performer there tonight all the way from France! (We are not making this up).
