Getting A Grant: How To Do It

A grants-writing workshop will be held on Wednesday, May 9 from 7pm to 8.30 p.m. in the Schroon Lake Senior Citizens Center. The Community Fund for the Gore Mt. Region is the sponsor; CFGMR gives grants annually to non-profits in Schroon, Chester, Horicon, Minerva and Johnsburg. Wes Dingman will give information on getting grants from CFGMR and other funding organizations.

Schroon groups that have received CFGMR grants include the Schroon-North Hudson Historical Society, Schroon Lake Chamber of Commerce, Adirondack Marathon, Schroon Athletic Booster Club, Paradox Community Center, Friends of Schroon Lake Library, Schroon Lake Youth Commission and Seagle Music Colony. CFGMR will give over $9,000 in grants in 2012; it is affailiated with the Adirondack Community Trust; for more information see www. GenerousACT.org.
