Ben Franklin Spotted in Schroon Lake

Ever wonder where your money goes? We don’t mean on all the things we buy, but rather after your buy them! Well, as we all know by now, there seems to be a website for everything, and so it should come as no surprise to learn there’s one that literally tracks the actual journey of our cold hard cash. And a Ben Franklin was recently identified here in Schroon Lake.

According to the Where’s George? website – which allows you to enter a bill’s serial number and follow its journey - a $100 bill that was first tracked in Sicklerville, NJ, on January 1, 2011, turned up in Schroon Lake on January 30, 2012.  From Where’s George?:

The bill has now travelled 291 miles in 1Yr, 28 days, 18 Hrs, 47 mins at an average of .74 miles per day. It is now 291 miles from its starting location.

The Schroon Laker who registered the bill posted on the website the note came from a bank. Got a strange tale to tell us about money? Share it in comments.
