Part three of our four part series continues today. Are you enjoying this travel back in time in Schroon's history? Got a memory or an event to share? Tell us in comments.

1938 Leland House Destroyed By Fire
World War II was starting in Europe and with it the horror of the Holocaust. Many refugees from Europe were Schroon summer guests. The Leland House continued as a smaller hotel at another site. Later jet travel and an expanded highway system changed the vacation habits of Americans and decreased Adirondack tourism.
